HiveSpace-Personal App Design
Ever wanted to connect with people with the same interest as yours? Introducing the new social gaming app- HiveSpace! Where you can find and match with other gamers who may have played the same games as you. With a built in mascot, we focus less on content and more on making connections to help you make your new awesome friend.

Pain Points
After researching other social gaming apps, I came to a conclusion that the apps weren't actually great for socialising. One example is Gameram. While it had similar idea's that I had in mind for my social gaming app, I noticed that it felt more like a dating app rather than an app to create connections. It had a "skip" or "follow" button (similar to tinders swipe left or right) and didn't seem genuine enough for users to want to make friends. Furthermore, the design of the app itself felt too open. In relation to the original McDonalds app, Gameram also used a lot of white space, making the app feel empty.

By looking at my research and painpoints, I wanted to make my original app feel more like a game room, consisting of dark colors with neon accents. I wanted to incorporate a space that welcomed those who wanted to socialize and make connections, without it feeling like a dating app.
